    Your favourite Chinese artists

Recently I started to listen to Chinese music. But it's hard to find out what type of artist fit's with your favourite music style. Anyone who has suggestions about their favourite chinese artist spill it out so we can learn more about the great chinese music and it's artists.

Since I discovered chinese music(8 months ago)I have listened to the whole Faye Wong collection and I'm even collecting her albums. I can't really describe Faye beacause she's one of a kind. After releasing ton's of albums she stopped releasing albums after her 'To love' in 2004. I'm still waiting for a come back
Another artist I like is Stephy Tang, who has a really nice voice to listen to. She does mostly sing ballads so not much for the rock type listener. Untill now she only have release 3 albums. The last album 'Dating Stephy' was released in 2007.

An artist who is very know in Asia is Rainie Yang. Allthough she's performing alot, she has only released 2 albums by now and I don't now much about her.

Last artist I know (a bit) is Jay Chou. But since I don't read chinese I don't know much about him either. I'm looking for the tracklists of his singles. Is there anyone who can help me with that?
Well as you can see I dpn't know much artists. Again, tell us what your favourtite artists are so we can enjoy even more chinese music.

I'm a big fan of Jay Chou and have pretty much all his albums so I would naturally suggest you listen to more songs by him My favourite album by him is probably Fantasy but I like a lot of th songs on Ye Hui Mei (葉惠美) and Still Fantasy too.

You can see a good list of his albums with English & Chinese names here: http://www.jaychoustudio.com/jay-chou-discography.php

Another list here, but with just English names: http://www.jay-chou.net/lyrics.php

My sister was a massive fan of Faye Wong over 10 years ago and she played the songs so often I got hooked onto them as well

Some other artists you might like:
    Stefanie Sun (孫燕姿)
    Karen Mok Man-Wai (莫文蔚)
    Eason Chan Yik-Shun (陳奕迅)
    Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文)
Jacky Cheung Hok Yau (張學友) - one of my favourites and has sung so many classic songs, lots of which people choose on karaoke
    Justin Lo (側田)
    Kary Ng (吳雨霏)
    Stephanie Cheng (鄭融)
    Leo Ku Kui-Kei (古巨基)

    In plain english:
I have uploaded most of his songs and you can get the link in Chinese Discography

hum...Because I'm addited to visual kei, I should say that my favourite band is Silver Ash (which are not still very VK style now, it's a pity for me T_T) =>Albums links in the chinese discography)

    Otherwise,
Faye Wong (I've known her especially for Final Fantasy VIII theme : eyes on me)
    F.I.R their pop-rock sound is very catchy^^

I Like Penny Tai & Michael Kuang Liang or Kong Leung.

I'm also like few songs of Vicky Zhao & Cecilia Cheung.

If you like ballads U can listen Rene Liu & Fiona Sit.

For CPop, famous & loved by many people : Elva Hsiao, Jolin Tsai & S.H.E & The new Crystal Liu or Liu Yi Fei.

    He..he.. ^ ^

I'm probably the only person here that likes them, but I love Yaksa.. it's Metal/Rock music, so probably not to the tastes of a lot of people here. But they're great, they're angry and it's good to rock out to.

Favourites have to be Guang Liang, Jay Chou and Wang Lee Hom. I don't mind some of the classic cantonese artists like Hacken Lee, Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung just because thats what i grew up listening to because of my parents.

As far as my knowledge on Chinese Music goes, I doubt there are many metal/punk bands out there simply because of the lack of demand on such music in the Chinese speaking market in general.

As for my favourite Cpop artists, Jay Chou would have to come out tops, followed by S.H.E. Some of my recommended songs are 夜曲(Ye Qu), 七里香(Qi Li Xiang), 菊花台(Ju Hua Tai), 甜甜的(Tian Tian De)

My favorite Chinese artists...well, I prefer ballad music, so Guang Liang and Jasmine Leong top my list ^_^. They both have wonderful, emotive voices and their songs are usually quite tender. For rock, I turn to Cherry Boom - best Chinese rock band hands down. They do some unconventional and rather dark songs, like Dear Prince and Green (two of my favorites). You can find the MV for the former on Youtube; it's really quite...interesting. A re-telling of Snow White.

Jay chou. he's got true, once in a millenia, talent. AND he's got exciting rock music with incredible lyrics that are touching AND non-offensive.

I love rock music. I just hate the foul language so Jay chou is perfect for me.
