Bills worth 7.5 million yen were found scattered across a street early Friday in Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture, after local police received an anonymous call about a man acting suspiciously, the police said.

About 10 police officers from the Hadano Police Station spent an hour gathering approximately 750 10,000 yen bills and two 1,000 yen bills after receiving the call shortly after midnight. They also found elastic bands, possibly used to bundle the banknotes together. Police are searching for the person who left the bills, and they also want to trace the caller, they said.
