One of the great oldies...
I would not have wanted a teacher like GTO while i was still going to school in uniform...
But i think the character does illustrate the important? point of teachers feeling, sincerely, for the student not just to increase his or her popularity with the students...

sorimachi did a really good job in that drama
but i wud have to say, worrying about my future, i wudn't want a teacher like him
but, u can't learn the value of life in a classroom

A good drama. This is one of the drama that triggers my passion for jdrama.

The school-related dramas never go out of style, and this is one of the pioneers. Sorimachi did a very good job. While the manga is funnier (with the old-skool yakuza looks), this drama is not bad either.

This is one of my most favourite series. It display how teachers can greatly affect our lives. They become our role models and they help shape us before we join society. Sorimachi plays Mr Onizuka very well. I stopped watching the anime and switched to the drama. Though I didn't like the movie all that much

Was a surprisingly very great adapatation of the manga/anime. I agree on the movie being weak, it was just a generic Onizuka story rehash. Kids have social problems, Onizuka solves it unethically, the end. Only thing worth seeing in the movie is the actual performance of a German suplex.

hah watched this when i was very little, it was kinda unappropriate for me
but now tht i hav rewatched it, its actually really funny

but i really like how onizuka always awed the other characters by his way of fixing problems!
i reallly recommend this!!

Considering that the drama is from the year 1998, it still pretty much beat some of the current dramas. i'll say GTO is a good drama series, definitely a classic =)

I actually didn't see the GTO drama until this past summer; I say this because I had already seen Hana Kimi, Densha Otoko, and a couple of other modern dramas and even still, GTO is my favorite drama of them all.

GTO was such a good drama, there seem to be too many that kinda copy/ are very similar to it, where the teacher helps the students of some terrible class who have lost faith in adults/teachers. Just gets too repetitive watching such similar dramas

GTO is really the best JDorama ever in my book, Sorimachi Takeshi really shines and delivers a powerful, touching performance unlike any I have ever seen elsewhere.

This drama is so long ago but yet when i see this title, i can still vividly remember the story.
Both actor and actress is really good however, i like the actress more and up till now she is still so pretty with her new drama. Its about all the student and friendship bonds and in the end it became so strong that some moment it is so sad due to some circumstances.

The problem with the movie was that it basically tried to include everything note worthy from the TV series into a movie without actually giving any time to develop any of them. There was no real effort, everybody were just mechanically moving through the motions.
