I didn't disliked Koizora, both movie and series, its preaty realistic story
Don't you have someone who had sex in high school, or had pregnant, or had an abortion? Or had a cancer?
I really did liked the work of actors, both movie and series cast. and about Mika, I don't think she is stupid, more like, she lives with her heart, than mind. For me stupidity is living only with ethics and mind, forgetting to listen the voice of your own heart.

I was curious how they can extend the story to a drama...from what everyone is saying above the drama seems to be below expectation.

I've watched the Movie a few months a go & i do like it but i feel that something was missing. Maybe it was a movie that i feel some parts were rushed. 2nd half of the movie lots of things were going on & filled with angst (rape, baby, cancer, new love). These events have major impact on the characters but the movie just rush through them. Sort of like they were running out of film & time LOL!

All in all i still recommend the movie. it is worth a watch.

I watched the movie quite awhile ago and thought it was ok. There are some major flaws in the story though, the worst one being the sequence of events about Mika getting gang raped and having sex with Hiro. I watched one episode of the drama then lost interest because the pacing was really awkward.

I wonder if someone could provide me with a link or something.

    Thanks!
I'm not sure how many dramas there are based on cell phone novels but one great drama is Akai Ito. Many sites should have it.

As for the koizora debate, I believe that they never should have made a drama version of the movie. The movie was as good as it would get and making a drama would only ruin the franchise.

I haven't seen the movie, but I watched the drama and I really liked it. I thought it was very touching. The one thing that I didn't like was Mika, the way she spoke irritated me a little lol it was a little slow with a touch of airheadedness, even though Mika wasn't really an airhead, at least she wasn't stupid. Over all I give it an 8/10

From the outward look of it,it looks really nice and romantic but,it's too much of sex, rape and all. Some might like these type of dramas, but i'm sure most of us doesn't. byong0804 really did point out alot of the important facts that some of us might miss. I sure don't want to get raped, and to get pregnant by that. No way,nu uh. And i'm sure your parents doesn't want you to get involved with such incidents, right? But falling in love, yes. I'm in love with someone right now ^^.

i was utterly disappointed with the movie and didn't even bother to touch the drama. It tried to make a really sweet and touching love story which I found to be a plot too cliche and overused. What's with always having someone contracting cancer and the other spouse decides to be together no matter what happens. Although using a cliche is fine, but at least tell the story somewhat differently like 'sekai no chuushin de ai wo sakebu'. koizora totally follows a typical tragic romance story and i was bored out by the film. moreover i agree that the underage sex, rape and so on really convey a bad message to teenagers.

To anyone interested in watching this drama, I strongly recommend watching the movie version at first. Aragaki Yui was simply amazing in that movie, and you will be hard-pressed not to break down and cry by the time the movie ends.

Additionally, Koizora, while being an epic series in itself....is way too short to make a dorama out of..The movie itself, while being well over 2 hours long, IIRC, is IMO, just perfect to fit all the drama and plot in. 4 episodes of dorama just makes it...well, boring, tbh
