    Otomen Live Action Drama

    OMG YES!!

So I've only read the first 2 volume of this series, but I already love it! There isn't an anime series so I'm excited for the Drama.

Otomen revolves around a high school junior named Asuka Masamune: manly man and judo/karate/kendo master on the outside, lover of caramel macciato, shōjo manga, sweets, and pink things on the inside. Masaki Okada will play Asuka in his first lead role in a live-action television drama. Kaho, Okada's co-star in the film adaptation of Fusako Kuramochi's A Gentle Breeze in the Village (Tennen Kokekkō) manga, will play the main heroine Ryō Miyakozuka.

Viz Media published the second volume of the manga in North America earlier this month. The manga has been running in Bessatsu Hana to Yume since 2006, and over 2.50 million copies of the seven compiled volumes have been published in Japan.

I'm... not TOO happy about the casting for Asuka since in my opinion Masaki Okada isn't very manly looking to begin with . I think it would have added more to the comedy and awesomeness if they had casted somebody more manly looking, but oh well! I'm excited!

Has anyone read Otomen? What are your thought about it being made into a drama?

I read it up to volume 6 now, and it is really interesting!
Of course I was ecstatic when I heard they are going to made it into a drama.
I have watched the first two episode. IMO, they can choose a better cast for Ryo.. :/ And the humor part in this drama somehow reminds me of HanaKimi..
The rest is okay, and I enjoyed it!
IMO, Okada turns out to be a nice Asuka, the kendo fighting scenes are awesome, the knitting-cooking-sewing scenes are good, too.

it was actually really disappointing! compared to the manga it really lacks on many, many levels...
haha i guess they were trying to go for the hana kimi vibe but this just came across as a group of ppl trying to cosplay...>.>
the casting was so-so...but the acting just made me cringe...
it's kinda sad esp cuz the manga is soooooooo fantastic!

The drama has been out for a while now. Does anyone know if a fansub group has or plans to pick it up as a project?
