Takeshi Konomi's popular "Prince of Tennis" manga is being adapted as a live-action series in China. Filming begins in October, with television broadcasts projected to begin in June, just before the opening of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Eh. China is competing with Taiwan?? ...to adapt live action of manga, haha at last they realised Journey to west, romance of 3 kingdoms and "Loius chia" is so out-dated. Is good to have foreign sources of idea for tv series though.

I think China are good in making "artistic films" but for a remake of a wonderful anime, I think Taiwan would be better, in terms of the actors and actresses.

I agree with you there, how many times have we seen a "Wong Fei Hung" remake over the past years and the same ancient China plotline? Sure having outside sources as an idea is cool but I'm finding the quality of China/Hong Kong media is on a downward spiral to doom

Good God...another live action PoT. I hope they do a better job than Japan did, and that the people they choose to play the characters actually look somewhat like.

I never saw the Japanese version and from how horrible I hear it is I don't think I will. I'll probably check out the Chinese version though, I'd like to check it out, I love the PoT manga.

I'm terrible afraid this is going to be really cheesy, with even worse special effects. I'll watch the first 3 episodes and see if i like.
