TVB series War Of In-Laws 2 <野蠻奶奶大戰戈師奶> achieved opening day ratings of 35 points, breaking the record for first day viewers in the past twelve months. To celebrate the show's early success, leading cast members Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Liza Wang (汪明荃), Myolie Wu (黃宗澤) played out a mock wedding banquet, inviting cast and crew members for a meal at a restaurant today. To tie in with the theme of the event, "mother-in-law" Liza tested the bride and made the couple present her with tea and massage her shoulders.
Asked how well her "daughter-in-law" did, Liza said that Myolie achieved 200%. Dressed in a traditional mother-in-law costume, Liza was carried out onto the stage by the bride and groom. Bosco was asked if he was happy to be getting married again and he replied that they had filmed many wedding scenes together already, but he was very pleased at the good ratings. When he learned that the ratings for the second night were up to 36 points, he said that it would be great if they could increase by one point every day.
Benz Hui (許紹雄) joked that if the ratings reached 40 points, then Bosco and Myolie should get married for real, but when Myolie heard this, she turned the focus back to Liza and said that she will let mother-in-law decide what to do. As for whether she would get married if Liza wanted it, she laughed that she would have to consult her own father first about such a big decision.
Aske if she would consider filming a third War series in light of the good results, Myolie said that she is not ready for it so soon and pointed out that very few series make it to a third instalment. Liza was in favour of making a third part to the series, saying that she would consider it because it is so popular.
Today also happened to be Eileen Yeow (姚瑩瑩)'s birthday, so the cast members also celebrated with her at the event, singing "Happy Birthday" to her.
Rumoured couple Joyce Tang (滕麗名) and Derek Kok (郭政鴻) showed no awkwardness at the event and even sat next to each other for the meal, happily posing for photographs together. Joyce explained that one of the writers was originally sitting in the seat, but he gave it up for Derek. Asked if she was envious of Bosco and Myolie together, Joyce laughed: "It is just acting, but I will wish them both well and hope that I will find love." Asked if she has already found it, she laughed that you cannot treat it as real if it happens to be there. She added that she has passed the period where she is yearning for marriage and is now just concentrating on her career.
