Girls' Generation (SNSD) Soars to the Top!

Female idol group Girls’ Generation has soared to the top of music charts with its new hit “Gee” in just one week following the album release. As soon as the group’s mini album was marketed last week, “Gee” took the top spot in all the online music sites, such as Mnet, Bugs, Cyworld, and Sori Bada.

The girls stormed back after a long nine-month hiatus during which each group member went on separate career paths. Girls’ Generation is expected to take the music scene by the storm in the first half of this year, as their big competitors like Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and TVXQ have already wrapped up their activities.

Their latest mini album contains five songs, which feature the girls’ special charm and innocence, as well as more matured musical sensitivity. The nine-member group is determined to prove this year that they are more than just pretty faces, but skilled musicians as well.

Wow, that caught me by surprise. Granted, I'm pretty addicted to 3 of the 5 tracks in the mini album.

Have all the girls in there now been in the group since its inception? I'm surprised a group that big didn't implode yet.

._. Everyone in my class (who is not a super wondergirls fan)
is raving about this song. (Gee)
But in all honesty, its sorta boring isn't it. It's not catchy at all @_@
힘내(Way to go) was okay though. (Previosuly called Haptic Motion)

Yeah, all of them has been in the band since it started. They were meant to be like the female "Suju." =/

I listened to it once and it's okay. Hahaha. I've never been a fan of SNSD in the first place, not after all the disrespectful stuff they've done to their sunbaes. Pfft. But at the same time, at least they can sing better than Sohee from WG.

When I first heard Gee, it sounded pretty strange to me, but by the 2nd time, it got pretty damn addicting.

Is it normal for singers to perform so often? I've seen some concert performance videos and they had a TON of them within the past 2 months. They apparently won in at least 5 shows (Inkigayo, Music Core, and Music Bank). I'm actually started following concert performances because of Gee, so any information is appreciated.
