BoA Climbs in U.S. Billboard Char

Korean pop star BoA’s “Eat You Up” has climbed to 12th place on the Billboard Chart’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart. The latest ranking is the highest one ever recorded by a Korean pop singer. BoA’s first release in the U.S. is ranked in the vicinity of Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” (14th place) and Christina Aguillera’s “Keeps Getting’ Better” (10th).

“Eat You Up” has been steadily making advances since it entered the Billboard Chart at 42nd place in last November. The Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart tells which song has been played the most in major clubs around the United States. It effectively shows the latest trend in dance and club music.

BoA’s fans are keeping their eyes on how far her song can rise in the chart. Meanwhile, she will release an official debut album for the American market in March and launch her career in the U.S. in earnest.

Commentary: Congratulations to BoA! =] The thing is though, Americans really don't pay attention to that chart so...I'm not trying to degrade her accomplishment but I'm being realistic here. I think "Eat You Up" is one of her worst songs. -_- I know it sounds harsh but she can do SO MUCH BETTER.

I wish her the best of luck! At least she's way ahead of Se7en! =P And possibly even Bi/Rain although one can argue about that.

^I completely agree with your commentary...

But Eat You Up isn't THAT bad...There's nothing worse in BoA's discography than Listen to your Heart, that song just plain sucks. It sounds like a terrible mix of Destiny's Child---meets---Britney Spears, in all the wrong ways.

Haha. I love the description you used. =P True it might not be her worst song but she needs something different to get the American's attention. We don't need another Britney Spears wannabe. =] We want someone different. In other words, Boa is better off being herself than trying some other "Americanized" style.

not really like 'eat u up', i think the music is trying to be American yet not, kind of shallow.
I like Boa very much (really!!), but I think she need to ber herself to be a singer, not to be 'an american' one. the song seems not hers, doesn't show her at all.
