Hong Kong police arrested another person today, in connection with the sex photos purportedly of Edison Chen (陳冠希), Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), Bobo Chan (陳文媛) and Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝) that started surfacing on the web a week ago.

At 4AM Hong Kong time, police arrested a 29-year-old man at his home in Ma On Shan, New Territories. One computer was confiscated and the man was taken away for questioning.

In the late afternoon, around half a dozen officers searched eLite Multimedia, a computer shop on Stanley Street, Central. Police seized two desktop computers and two notebook computers. They also took away other evidence in a cardboard box and a leather case.

Hong Kong newspaper reporters canvassed workers in neighbouring shops. Newspapers reported that some workers said they had seen Edison go in and out of eLite Multimedia. Newspapers speculated that the sex photos were on the hard disk of one of the computers Edison took to the shop for repair.

However, police have yet to confirm whether the images are real or digitally faked.

Police did not confirm or deny if the man arrested today is the original source of the photos.

Today's arrest brings the total number of people arrested over the sex photos to eight.

Of the six people arrested on Friday and Saturday, one woman and three men were bailed for HK$20,000 each and are required to report back to police in eight weeks. The one woman and two men who were not released were detained for further questioning.

The only suspect to be charged so far, 29-year-old Chung Yik Tin (鍾亦天), was arrested on Wednesday and remanded in custody for eight weeks after appearing before a magistrates' court on Friday.

Edison's management company said that the star is out of town, but that he will cooperate with police in the investigation. Sing Tao Daily, a Hong Kong newspaper, rumoured that Edison left Hong Kong on Thursday in a car headed for Zhuhai, China, where he crossed the border to Macau to catch a private jet to the United States.
