MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, I have always liked heavy metal or just hard rock, no matter the origin.

As in all J-rock I'd say Yousei Teikoku, simply because it is really good and despite having heard basically the entire discography I could not point out a bad song at all. Really powerful music and one of my favourite vocals too. However one can't forget X-Japan of course, the masters of the genre - I am not such a big fan of ALL their songs, but some of them are just absolutely epic: Art Of Life being the best thing ever of course. Their technical skills are impressive aswell, and unlike many people I like the voice too. It would be great if they've made a new album.

    SIAM SHADE
    Judy And Mary
    L'Arc~en~Ciel

those 3 bands are really great for me, I love their songs, and from them I started to know other Jrock bands.
Even though they already disbanded (except for Laruku), their song always inspired me, in my band, in my life

    1. T.M. Revolution/Abingdon Boys School
    2. L'Arc~en~Ciel
    3. Acid Black Cherry

My J-universe is still expanding, this is just what I think right now. I do believe that any act with Takanori Nishikawa in it has to be good, though...

    1. Galneryus: Well most of their songs are in English, but they have some in Japanese as well. All members of the band can actually play their instruments well.

    2. Spinalcord: Spinalcord is kind of like Galneryus, even the same guitarist (Syu). The only difference is it's all in Japanese which is a good thing.

    3. Area51: The singer is a female. The music is like a combination of jpop and metal.

    4. Nightmare: Great music, but the singer's voice can get annoying after a while.

    I don't really have favorites, I just have...phases.
    For example, my current phases:

    - Spinalcord ~ Love that solo in [FEEL WHAT I FEEL (SC OWN WAY version)]

    - Shadow ~ I just started listening to one of those albums and...I likey those solos.

    - the GazettE ~ I haven't listened to much of their songs lately (just watched a DVD Live last night though >_>), but I thought that I should put them here because I'm painfully waiting for their newest single to come out [BEFORE I DECAY] which will be released on October 7th 2009. That's the date where I have homework due AND a freaking midterm exam. Ugh.

    - MaveRick ~ Although they've changed their name to EAT YOU ALIVE and ventured onwards to new horizons music-genre-wise, I prefer when they were MaveRick now. Each of their songs were so unique, especially in a time when Visual Kei bands were well...boring. >>;

Do As Infinity and L'arc~en~ciel. Both have produced great quality songs for several years and remained consistent with their own styles of music.
