    Looking for artist suggestions

    Greetings,

I hope I found the right forum to post this.....

After 20 years I returned to listening to J-stuff again and, boy, what a difference in the quality and range of music available today compared to back then.

I've been enjoying some of the tunes on the site but I'm looking for more music that I like. I've figured out that I like J-stuff like I've and Kotoko. The techno sound rather than house, please. I like industrial too. Maximum the Hormone is pretty cool. Some of the bands that do anime songs are right up there in my favourites list - Savage Genius comes to mind. And I really, really like the sound of Eufonius. Kind of reminds me of some of the lounge stuff that came ouf of England a few years ago.

Would anyone have suggestions of similar artists so I can expand my listening pleasure?

    Thanks in advance.

    Papa-san

If your looking for Techno, Ken Ishii is your man. Hes THE mixer of japan and even composed pieces that have been heard all around the world. If your looking for J-Techno then he should be your first stop.

There is also Hirasawa Susumu. He did the music to the anime movie paprika and is an amazing mixer. Just look for pieces by these two and it should be a good start.

Those are all combination bands, not Hip-hop mate. They incorporate rock sound with other elements to create something new. Check them out nonehteless, they really are great bands

H&MC - Rock, hard rock, metal, pop rock, punk rock, etc.
UVERworld - Rock, electronica, techno, R&B, hip hop, etc.
ORANGE RANGE - Rock to progressively more techno beats, depending on where you go in their discography.

    Anyway

papa-san, is this the same guy from the DDofCS GunGame server in CS:S?

If you're into dance pop type stuff, then you might enjoy Buzy (best known for the Rockman.EXE Stream opening).

They only released one album before disbanding, but it's actually really good. I'll post it once I get back to a speedier connection, if you're interested.

Hmm, I don't have a lot of j-techno. I did just get 'Schwein' and their remix album 'Son of Sweinstein' from 'Sweinstein' Here's the first song for it called "you're my disease(ken ishii mix)"
Its up'd on mediafire. Let me know if you like, I'll up the album for you^^

Some members of my fav band 'Buck-Tick'(pronounced baku-chiku) had participated in th group, here's the wiki page on them, and the -small- page on 'Schwein' But you may already know about Buck-Tick since they've been around for a loooong while^^

Oh, and here's the popular song from Orange Range called 'Asterisk' and a song from M.O.V.E. called 'bust the future wall' that might be kinda techno I guess^^

    Hope this helped!
