Well, a band I really like is Natsumen, they play a jazz/rock/fusion style that sounds awesome, with a nice psycho atmosphere but still with jazz influence. I like all those jazz bands that are influenced bye modern rock.

The solo works ofHiizumi "H Zett M" Masayuki are also great. He is known for being the keyboardist of Shiina Ringo on Tokyo Jihen project.
He's albums have a sound similar to Tokyo Jihen but more jazzy.

I don't remember more bands right now cause I'm not a hard jazz fan but that would be the best for me.

I've only heard of Tokyo Brass Style, which is more of Big Band. I'll listen to those you recommend ^^

I DEP!!! definitively. It's not actually jazz at all... but dj makes exquisite fusion with many brazilian rhytms!!! I'm just lovin' it!

I must concur with DDDD about SOL & "PIMP" SESSIONS. My first encounter with them was the opening of ******* e Hatchin, called Paraiso. Since then, I have waited for the full version of that song, but all the other tracks they produce are great and fun to listen to. You should also listen to the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack which is huge. It also offers cool jazz sound.

From those who hasn't been mentioned in this thread I would reccomend Omokage Lucky Hole, Kojima Mayumi and Santara. And if you like ska then I would add Fumido, Ore Ska Band and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.

I've never heard anything new for 'The Seatbelts', but they provided a really good jazz OST for Cowboy Bebop about ten years ago. You should give them a try.
