    Japanese Electro Anyone?

so thers basicly a huge fanbase for j-rock, j-pop visual key and even j-hiphop. So whers the love for some good japanese electro.

Lets take Mondo Grosso, for example. Not only did he the Soundtrack to the rythm game Lumines for the PSP, he also is a (more or less) worldwide known DJ and has some very smooth and relaxing house music to offer:

when he feels the urge to do some songs with more power he goes by the name Shinishi Osawa and puts some very danceable stuff on the turntable.

So this brings us to Eri Nobuchika, if you are a anime watcher with a need for rare but awesome stuff, you could know her from the ending of FLAG. Her song "Light" is played due it.

Next up is Takkyu Ishino, who is even known far over the borders of japan. I even had the pleasure to see him live once. He makes very minimalistic music and lets say.. i tought to be half-deaf after his gig still was a great pleasure.

Finally thers no go in electro without cornelius.. maybe the most popular of all listed. He's in the bisness since a good amound of years. He is doing also a lot of rock and experimental influenced music, so its hard to put him into electronica only.

    Cornelius ~ Drop

Lets take one last shot... Towa Tei... is also a guy who has been quite some time in the business. hes more into the electronica scene but mixes jazz into his songs as well...

I've never really listened to pure Japanese Electro, but there is the Shibuya-kei stuff I like: Towa Tei, Freetempo (personal fave), fantastic plastic machine, mondo grosso, etc. Really got into it since it's great chill out/ambiance music to have playing in the background. Just I wish there was an english language blog that kept up to date on releases, since my japanese sucks.

Yeah, the Shibuya-kei stuff is cool. I love stuff like Cubismo Grafico, Pizzicato Five, Flippers Guitar, Yukari Fresh.

Also Pico Pico music is great. It's not really proper electro, but there's quite a lot of decent electronic J-music out there. Check out:
The Aprils, Capsule, Hazel Nuts Chocolate, Macdonald Duck Eclair, Plus-Tech Squeeze Box, Sonic Coaster Pop and YMCK among others.

I've also been listening to Boom Boom Satellites and Denki Groove recently.

For a bit of dnb, there's Ram Jam World, and for more downbeat stuff you could try some DJ Krush.

I don't really know much else... but there's plenty of great electronic music out there!

sweet sweet taste for music you have there.

btw, the Boa in the Mondo Grosso collab's actually not the k/jpop BoA, but a london band!

well i dont see the need of a specific electro artist 'cause most of japanese band jpop singers all of them remix theyr song for a specific season or something.

i love listening to any type of electro music. Different nations have different styles, i prefer european electro mainly because of its soothing melodies. However i will take a look at these thx for sharing
Divide 30 by 1/2 then add 10. The answer is >.> u'd be surprised most people get it wrong.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but I will say this anyway and risk it. You aren't using the term electro properly. Electro is a sub-genre of electronic music, and not a blanket term for all electronic music. That is a big pet-peeve of mine, sorry.

(Also, if you are interested in Japanese electronic music, check out Yoji Biomehanika. He is an AMAZING hard trance DJ.)
