    Korean songs that aren't hiphop/r&b/ballad

Hey all. I'm looking for some good korean music. It's hard because everything I find is either a hip hop or some kind of slow, soulesque music. Need something that's fairly upbeat and poppy. Even KRock is good if such a thing exists. Any suggestions?

I think most of the korean music is indeed hip hop with a high beat or dance music or a slow pop song. if you want a krock well kind hard, I only found a few n some of them even like hip hop but in the middle it add a little rock style.

here maybe you can check this page from wiki that list korean rock music group:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor...k_music_groups

if you want a solo, I think moon he jun, the ex member of HOT sing rock style song so if you want you can check it.

Upbeat and poppy? I think you should try some of the Korean work by Bowa and Younha.

Hip Hop is very popular in Korea nowadays. But if you want upbeat, poppy tunes I suggest Trax, BoA, Super Juniors and DBSK(DongBangShinKi).

folk rock is even harder to find.
rob a lot of the artist who do hip hop/kpop music often have really upbeat songs. You just have to find them, since they're not always the most popular.

Nell! They are an indie rock band who used to be under Seo Taiji company. Their music sounds amazing.

Nell - Stay MV (one of my favorites songs from them)

Nell - Good Night MV (the video message is <3 if you pay attention to it)

oh and CLAZZIQUAI PROJECT! They are an electronic-jazzy trio with awesome upbeat songs~ lol at my description well see it for yourself:

Clazziquai Project - Prayers (Shinichi Osawa Remix)

Clazziquai Project - Come To Me (Mellotron Remix) MV ♥ this song is all kinds of amazing.

you just brought back this thread from the dead peaceb.. but since you did and anyone interested stumbles upon this, for Alternative Rock I recommend Jaurim and Cloud Cuckoo Land. And if you like emo rock, try Sugar Donut.
