Jackie Chan Can't Pronounce Names of Indian Film Stars

Hollywood star of Chinese origin Jackie Chan has tacitly admitted in his official website that he did not know how to pronounce the names of Indian film stars. “There were so many famous faces (from) Indian cinema. But I did not know how to pronounce their names,” Chan wrote.

Chan had described Tamil Nadu film industry great Kamal Hassan as a “singer” and ignored questions about Bollywood thespian Amitabh Bachchan in television interviews during his Indian sojourn.

“(The film industry) in Hong Kong in China will have to work harder because soon Indian cinema will overtake us,” Chan predicted.

Significantly, Chan had evinced interest to work in Indian films during the trip saying: “I am eagerly waiting for a good project here (as) India is the world’s biggest market for movies”.

The film star denied media reports that had imported mineral water or misbehaved with the staff of Hotel Taj Coromandel, where he stayed for a few hours Friday.

He praised Indian cuisine, dismissing reports that he had Chinese chefs in tow.

I don't know why they made such a big hoopla over this. I mean, most Westerners can't pronounce Asian names, so why should Jackie Chan be targeted? Also, Jackie Chan can't speak English without an accent, so what makes anyone think that he can speak multiple languages? I would give him a point just for trying! And please, Jackie, DO NOT star in a Bollywood movie. I would lose all respect for you! (Not that I don't like Bollywood, I watch a lot of Bollywood myself, but I just can't picture Jackie Chan doing martial arts, singing, and dancing in a Bollywood film! It would be like that Mike Myers and Jessica Alba movie...EW)

i agree with you on jackie chan's english skills

but i think jackie will be fine in bollywood films. he has done singing, and dancing shouldnt be a problem for him, and most bollywood films are comedic. all fits perfectly with jackie
