On May 19, Yang Hyun Suk, the founder and CEO of YG Entertainment, wrote on the label's website, "in the middle of July, Big Bang will be releasing a new mini-album."
In addition, the 38-year-old CEO surprised fans with news that the group is also scheduled to release their second album, sometime in October.
"We feel a bit burdened," Yang wrote. "Due to the success of Big Bang's singles 'Lies' and 'Last Farewell,' we're afraid we won't be able to top them."
But nonetheless, Yang acknowledged Kwon Ji Young (G-Dragon) for his continued efforts, "Because of his hard work, I can proudly say that about 80 percent of the album is complete."
