NEWS! : BEIJING OLYMPIC 2008 OPENING CEREMONY IS "FAKED UP" SHOW!

Do you know that the little girl that 'sang' on the very first performance is a fake?
She simply just mimed throughout the whole performance...
BUT...
Strangely, her popularity rate didn't drop....
hmmmm....
Don't you think that this is a little bit unfair for the REAL little singer?
SHE ISN'T FAMOUS!!

On the contrary, the real singer didn't turn up for the performance...
Maybe that's her fault?

Apparently a great deal of the fireworks was a cgi replica of the real thing because of visibility issues.

The fireworks thing doesn't really bother me as it is somewhat understandable. The singer issue however is just plain horrible, she wasn't allowed to sing live in the stadium because she was considered to be too ugly. That's pretty much a quote from one of the representatives.

Ofcourse the West isn't really in any position to complain with all the x-factor idol bs and such but still this is going overboard. I think the girl was only 8 years old or something like that.

WOW... that red big font lettering gave me quite a shock.

Well, when I was watching it, you could sooo tell that girl was lip synching it (I'm sorry but no way do people sing like that live) what surprised me the most was it wasn't even her voice!! They used her because she looked more cuter than the voice singer little girl. Apparently having an all round perfect Olympics Opening Ceremony includes nit picking cute kids and not talented ones.

I wouldn't say all the fireworks were fake - just the footstep ones..I think.

So what? Anyone who knows how the Chinese Communist party works should have seen this display coming a mile away. China wants to be looked at and lauded for their performances this year. They want to regain some respect that they've lost and try to build new relationships.

Hiding behind false images is nothing new.

To clarify events without big letters or fonts:

*The little girl singing, was actually lip synching (although she had actually tried out to perform ANd sing).
*The little girl who was the voice behind the performance was deemed to be not pretty enough. Nowhere in the article does it call her ugly.

*The firework footsteps DID happen, but because they feared they could not capture all the footsteps, they digitally recreated what they looked like from above. The fireworks were actually set off though, so it's not like they lied.

The real singer wasnt used because they said they want to show the world china's best. So they use the best voice and the best look and put em together. For the firework, the firework itself is real if you are there. If you watch it on TV its is slightly "enhanced" in a way or computer generated. They make it so it shows less smoke on TV because they dont want audiences to see more smoke there.

For the firework, the firework itself is real if you are there. If you watch it on TV its is slightly "enhanced" in a way or computer generated. They make it so it shows less smoke on TV because they dont want audiences to see more smoke there.

it still has the same amount of smoke generated from fireworks, but the designer himself said that the fireworks were a bit too bright.

Generally speaking, I think people are just bashing China. Almost everyone said that it was a good show BEFORE they knew that the fireworks on TV and the singing were fake.
If people are going to complain that much about it...why watch it? its constant complaining goddamit...

the kid is not singing? ...don't listen or watch
the fireworks aren't real...make your own
we want a better impression of china...well we ditched the kid with teeth problems, created an environmentally friendly swimming pool, have a police officer know 12 different languages, DIDN'T EVEN CHEER OR BOO the japanese, destroyed the slums to create a new look, didn't try to mess with Tibet (because they messed with China first).......
