only reason i watched this movie was because i heard they used a lot of Supercar tracks... and for a sports movie, it is still verrrry good

All About Lily Chou-Chou is probably my favourite movie of all time even though it's damn depressing. I'm also into pretty much anything by Shunji Iwai, Takashi Miike, and Shinya Tsukamoto.

    I'd recommend:

    - Tada Kimi wo Aishiteru ~Heavenly Forest~: bittersweet!
    - Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu: sad but also beautiful~
    - Taiyou no Uta: cute, but also a bit sad <3
    - Shinobi: traditionally themed movie about clan wars and there's a Romeo & Juliet-love, too...it's a little cruel but I found it awesome and kind of artistic!
    - Lovely Complex: very funny and cute movie!

I just realized I seem to have a thing for "bittersweet" movies...

Don't want to sound like a boring old man but if haven't seen the old Kurosawa classics,7 Samurai,Yojimbo etc you really should.....on a more recent tip Kamikaze Girls and Memories of Matsuko are both charming, very colourful and 'pop' but not at all trite. But I always come back to the old samurai movies anything by Hideo Gosha always worth watching also Kenji Misumi especially the Kozurei Okami(Lone Wolf and Cub) series my all time favourite movies

I'd recommend Tokyo Story, although the pacing may seem to some as slow, it is regarded as one of the best movies of all time.
