how did you meet visual kei?

hi, well i was just wondering how people came across to know the existent of visual kei jrock. as for me, i found out visual kei through anime lol. i was watching the anime, deathnote and as soon as i listened to the opening and ending which was by nightmare i fell in love with it. so i did some further research on them and came across other bands such as alice nine and gazette. after listening to many visual kei songs i just couldnt get enough of it. so yea, thats my story.

anybody else would like to share their story?

I met mine when I was looking for music cd's and came across Alice Nine. At first look I thought they were overdress. I'm not that surprise since the fashion here is different than of other place. I was curious so I bought one of their cd title JEWEL. And from then on I got to know of Visual kei =)

I touch visual kei when one of my friends in another forum recommended alice nine. to me. After that, I started to love visual kei and start listening to the GazettE, Dir en grey etc.

I discovered Visual kei through some anime related forums on the internet. I just wanted to listen to some japanese rock music, and Visual Kei seemed to be very popular with the members of these forums at that moment (five years ago). The frist band I listened to were "Dir en Grey", still one of my favorite bands.

I'm not much into visual kei. I listen to their music and I thought, not bad. But I really like their dresses and costume. And for sure, it only applicable to them. I hate to see some wannabe dressing like that in the street, when they know it's not suitable for them.

For me, it was three years ago when I first listened to Alice Nine and I wikied them and came across the term visual kei. Alice nine is great and then I came to learn about others like L.M.C, An Cafe... My little sister is a huge fan and somehow she kind of influenced me to listen to some of them. I prefer to Alice nine^^

The first song i listen to is Nightmare - Rasion Detre. After that i started listening to all kinds of different visual kei like gazette and D and etc.. It was a good experience but i still prefer japanese ballads the most dont know why. haha. But of course i do listen to visual kei still.

I saw one of Moi dix Mois' CDs, NOCTURNAL OPERA, at a local music store one year ago. I actually bought it because the cover looked interesting, and, luckily, the music was too. I don't really listen to so many visual kei bands, just Moi dix Mois and MALICE MIZER. I've heard some songs by Vidoll, though, but that's just about it.

Someone recommended Dir En Grey to me quite a few years back but I didn't look into their suggestion too much until another friend of mine told me about visual kei much later. Started out listening to old gazette and diru and being into a lot of art I find the "visual" part of it all very cool and artistic.
