YUI provides Stereopony's next single

Up-and-coming girl band Stereopony has revealed that their third single, "I do it," is a collaboration with singer-songwriter YUI. This is the first time that YUI has created a song for another artist.

The band's vocalist, AIMI, has been heavily influenced by YUI. The group shares the same producer as her, but they were still surprised during a recording session in Okinawa when YUI, who happened to be taking a break there at the time, unexpectedly visited the studio. During that session, "I do it" was born.

The song is being released on April 22. On March 18, it will be made available for download as a chaku-uta.

I really love both Stereopony and Yui. I just know that Yui has influenced on Aimi... Thanks for your information though.

This is pretty good news for both Stereopony and Yui fans. I've never really listened to Stereopony that much, but they seem okay to me. Yui is pretty amazing though, I mean to have influenced someone when you're barely in your twenties lol. How old are the people from stereopony then? Yui has done a lot of songs though from ballads to "rock," which ones were the ones that influenced this group?

Oh wow!! I seems logical that Stereopony would have been influenced by YUI. They are similar in some ways. I love both of them, so this made my day. I'm glad Stereopony is releasing more as well. Thanks for the info!!!

I'll be honest...I'm glad YUI decided to take a break. Her songs were really beginning to sound the same. "Summer Song"..."I'll Be"...etc....just all blend together in my head.

I hope Stereopony doesn't decide to adopt Yui's sound for this single.

Either way...I'll have to listen to it before I judge it.

Stereopony is a new band composed of 3 girls ages 18/19, so YUI's only a couple of years older than them. And I don't think you could pick a specific song for the influence, but listening to stereopony they were probably more influnenced by YUI's rock songs.
