m.o.v.e cover... KOKIA and sing Evangelion!

With t-kimura not being part of the group's public activities anymore, m.o.v.e have started a new era. But the path they seem to take is unfortunately not very flattering....

Probably too old to succeed in another new project, Yuri and motsu are both indulging all of avex's whims to keep m.o.v.e alive...

Thus one of the most creative groups ever in Japan is going to release an album made up of... covers of anime theme songs.

There will be Tamashii no Rufuran (Yoko Takahashi for Evangelion), Tatta hitotsu no omoi (KOKIA for GUNSLINGER GIRL), Sousei no Aquarion (AKINO for Sousei no AQUARION), the legendary Ai, oboeteimasu ka of Macross, and a self-cover of Gravity, among other songs.

The album will be out on August 19 2009 in two editions, CD-only and CD+DVD with the video of the Live TRANSFORM 2009 concert which was recorded on April 4, and is the last live with t-kimura.

Wow, when did t-kimura leave and why? As much as I like m.o.v.e, their songs were getting repetitive and most of them ended up sounding very similar. I wonder how they will sound now, after their cover album...

wtf..... this is absolutely depressing news...from being a top electrobeat techno group to songs cover....bad...seems to me like they've ran out of ideas and are gonna disband soon.

Yeah, album itself nothing of the ordinary. That's kind of sad, cause i like move... well, maybe they're just on a "break" between hits.

Ah man, when did that happen?

Che, but edmcel's right. They were starting to get repetitive. Maybe they're just trying to keep on the scene so nobody forgets them.
I love 'em, but sometimes you gotta move on.....xD

just heard this album, and well it's better than expected to me, but still not close to what they would originally sing like. i love move and i hope they can continue together to produce new songs. would be very sad to see such a unique group disband.

I just got this album, and I don't think it is that bad: they covered well, and I love those original anime songs ^ ^ Maybe it is just because I am not yet listened to what they had been singing before.
