Haha, i really want to watch Old boy, i heard that it was good.
I'm more into the action gangster films as opposed to the romance ones. =D

    *****spoilers*****

2000 pounds of beauty was hilarious! when she had plastic surgery and suddenly males were becoming enamoured by her and making excuses for her etc. and i loved it when her friend didn't recognise her and went to the homeless person and the lines between them!

the king and clown was kinda ok. some bits were funny but others were odd yet touching, like the scene between lee jun ki and the king in the king's room and those shadow puppets etc.

i did not understand daddy long legs at all. i thought it was a girl was liking a guy at first but then it was somehow the guy liking her etc and they had such a weird illness. i found it hard to connect to this movie.

DISCOGRAPHY: An Café | DBSK | Drunken Tiger | F.T Island | Fly To The Sky | K | Mayday | Son Dam Bi | SuG | Utada Hikaru | Wilber Pan

Do watch it if you can, it's very good, but a bit of a mindf*ck at the same time (though that's what makes it good)

Other Park Chan-wook films are also good such as the others in the Oldboy trilogy; Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. As ilovegoong has said, I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK by Park is also good.

The Host (Gwoemul) was a pretty decent movie, fairly big budget - a dumb plot but was executed well. Also Whasango (Volcano High) is a good manga-esque film which has some similarities to Tenjou Tenge.

"too beautiful to lie" was a good korean comedy.

there's a new korean-japanese film out called "virgin snow" (korean name) or "first love" (japanese) which I wanna see. it stars lee jun ki and aoi miyazaki.

"Silmido (2003)" and "Chihwaseon (2002)" aka "Drunk on Women and Poetry" (UK), "Painted Fire" (USA), "Strokes of Fire" (International: English title).

both movies are serious in nature. Silmido is based on actual events. the movie involves a group of prisoners sentenced to death for various offences and are given the option of living but under the condition that they must become part of a secret military unit trained to kill North Korean President Kim Il Sung.*

Chihwaseon show's a lot of traditional culture. some ppl may find it boring. the film revolves around a painter in a time of political and social unrest in 19th century Korea. the uncouth, self-taught painter explores his natural talent amidst the repressive world around him.*

these two movies were nominated and won a bag of awards. Chihwaseon's director won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival of 2002. Silimdo won Best Film, Best Director (Woo-Suk Kang), Best Support-Actor (Jae-yeong Jeong) at the Blue Dragon Awards of 2004 to name a few.*

*plot lines and award information was taken from http://www.imdb.com/

I saw Oldboy... soooo messed up, but soooo good. The fighting scenes are so beautifully done.

Another, Visitor Q, is an extremely weird and disturbing Japanese movie...beware!

I found Sunflower a pretty good movie, ex-gangster wanting to change his ways. Don't expect massive bloodshed though, it does have it's emotional moments like all Korean movies =P
