RAIN to star in new Hollywood movie

In this new year, actor-and-singer Rain (25) chosed to participate in a Hollywood film which is produced by one of the most famous film producer in USA.

After completing his CF shooting in Korea, Rain departed to L.A. and decided to prepare for his upcoming Hollywood film. Since November 2007, he has been improving his English language by staying with a personal lecturer who is a American Korean.

His agency, J Tune Entertainment publicist revealed, "Rain is now in L.A. and getting ready for his next Hollywood film. A local Korean who stays there is hired to be his personal lecturer. There're still some details to sort out so it's not the right time yet to talk more about this issue (new film)."

On the other hand, Rain greeted his fans by releasing a short video clip at his official site. "I'm grateful to have everyone's love and support in year 2007, so hope that you can continue to encourage me in year 2008."

Hmmm... I liked Rain in Full House, and Sang Doo. I hope he'd do well. Hollywood could use more cute asian guys, and cute asian guys could use quite a bit more fame

Just found out that it's a Wachowski directed movie. It that case, it should be good.
It'll hit the screen somewhere in May 2008. Rain will be playing the character of a rookie racer.
Hmm....hope that it'll be good.

Carloco (Stallone and Shwartzenegger) purchased the rights to do a live action Speed Racer. They paid $10 million for the rights. The script was finished and even hired a casting agency and cast the parts. After the failure of Cliffhanger and Last Action hero, nothing became of it and so their licenses have expired. Too bad. I would have enjoyed it (from Dave Stenberg).

A new series titled "New series of Speed Racer" was produced by Fred Wolf films from Teenage Mutant Turtle fame and released in 1993, but was not as popular as the original, for a few reasons. The animation was done by American cartoonists, losing that great Manga effect; the storyline and animation seems only to appeal to small children and not to adults as the original one did. The artwork is nowhere near as good and the theme song was changed. The only things remaining are the original names. A big disappointment!
