SG Wannabe to disbanded this year?

SG Wannabe who have dominated the best-selling album chart for the past three years faces the possibility of being disbanded this year.



SG Wannabe leader, Chae Dong Ha will be leaving the group once his contract with current agency, MNet Media ends at the end of May 2008. MNet revealed to the media today that they will not be renewing his contract once it expires.

As to the reason for the non-renewal, MNET Media said that it was due to differences over his future career path. They expressed, “Chae Dong Ha hopes that besides the music side, he can also try out in acting. But our company wishes that our artistes only focused on the music area. We tried to solve this with a series of meetings but we failed to come to a consensus at the end.”

Chae Dong Ha also gave his opinion regarding him leaving SG Wannabe, “I believe that this decision is the best for both SG Wannabe, the company and me. The two other members are like my real brothers who have been through a lot with me and I hope that even with my departure, SG Wannabe will still carry on as a group and achieve even better results in future.”

SG Wannabe will be releasing their 5th album at the end of March 2008 and this shall be Chae Dong Ha last work as a SG Wannabe member before leaving.

Groups rarely last once a member leaves the group and this could be the end of one of the most successful groups in recent years. Although their recent albums hasn’t been as good as their earlier ones but their albums still sold like hotcakes and was number one for the past three years.

Sigh, SG Wannabe was extremely good... so their last album is a must have....

that's a shame. yeah, they're not the most good looking group out there but their voices make up for it. i don't know who's at fault, the company or dong ha. maybe the company is right in wanting him to concentrate on his singing so that it won't affect his singing abilities. maybe dong ha thinks he's good at acting cos all the "power and fame" has gone to his head... but maybe he will surprise us.
