Ugh. I hate Keanu Reeves. He is so dumb and cannot act. He doesn't seem anything like Spike to me. I love Bebop, but they should've just left it alone.

Vincent Gallo as Spike! Skinny, Hair, and Cooler! Come on! they could have made this film dark and humorous at the same time with Vincent. Keanu will not have the hair! I if he does do the hair it will just not look right. I wonder if they will make him die at the end of the film?

wat is it with choosing Keanu Reeves for japanese related movies. He's also gonna do the 47 ronin/samurai movie, a big big mistake.

I guess they're thinking: "Let's choose Keanu! He did kung fu, so he should be able to handle these Asian movies."

I'm gonna say the same thing I said on the DBZ movie thread: complete and utter sh!t.

If you want to do the anime justice, the movie has to become an epic trilogy like Lord of the Rings (extended versions).

I enjoyed Keanu in The Matrix, but his fighting skills (like his acting) is just too stiff. Donnie Yen would be better suited for this, or Tak Sakaguchi
And what about Edward? Her quirky antics are fun to watch in the anime, but they will be irritating in a live movie.

I won't be surprised if Ein will be a Golden Retriever.....

Another thing is the soundtrack.
Knowing Hollywood, the music will probably be Techno/Trance with some orchestral pieces, because it's a science fiction movie....god forbid....

I first heard about Keanu expressing that he wanted to play Spike, but I didn't realize they were really going to push through it @_@ I can't really see keanu doing a spike because to me, his acting seems bland and expression less.. Oh well, here's hoping it suits him..

Personally i'm somewhat excited to see this movie. Not for the choice of its casting, but more from who's handling the behind-the-scenes work. With the original Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe, and the original series script supervisor Keiko Nobumoto, i'm sure they won't let something stupid and out of place make it into the movie.

But then again it IS Holywood. So there will be changes, but why can't they just produce a new season of the anime?

I'm surprised only one person brought up the concern about Faye! Forget Spike! Keanu might ruin the movie but he may not... but we have to worry about the supporting members of the team! I really hope they don't epic fail on Faye's casting, or any other character for the matter!
