Jun Ji Hyun to debut in Hollywood

Post: #1Jun Ji Hyun to debut in Hollywood

Jun Ji Hyun, who starred in movies like Windstruck, My Sassy Girl and Daisy, is set to star in a Hollywood produced movie. The movie is a live action adaptation of Blood+, titled "Blood: The Last Vampire."

Ji Hyun will play the part of Saya, a half human-half vampire who is part of a covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in post WWII Japan. The movie is said to be directed by Chris Nahon (director of Kiss of the Dragon).

Expected date of release in the US is by 2008.

------
I'm looking forward to this movie since I also like the anime, Blood+. I hope the visual effects will be good and I'm quite curious to see how they will portray the demons or chiroptera in the movie.

Anyway, good luck for Jun Ji Hyun!

By the way, Ji Hyun's Hollywood name is Gianna Jun.

Blood+ is actually based on the animated movie

so you can say the live action movie Blood: The Last Vampire is an adaptation of Blood: The Last Vampire the animated movie. seems like the plot of the two movies will be different thou, with the live action one being some sort of prequel to everything.

I watched the anime Last Vampire. It was pretty good. I don't know about the live action, but I'll check it out anyways.

Ah, heard the release date got pushed again, by one year. I read that it was to be released on June 2009. It's also gonna star Japanese actress Koyuki as the main villain, whose character was not in the original Blood: The Last Vampire anime movie.

I've seen some of the pics. I gotta say that Jun Ji Hyun (I refuse to call her Gianna Jun. Horrible name in my opinion) looks hot in the uniform. Good to know this won't be "modernized", meaning the setting remains the same as in the anime.
