" broke a contract with the company during filming on its facilities. The movie, released December 2007, showed a woman dying as the result of an arson attack on a train while organizing a surprise party for her boyfriend...

The accident motivated the man to become a metro engineer later.

that took place in 2003, taking the lives of 192 people. A mentally disturbed man started the fire.

The metro spokesman said when the film producers initially came up with the project and asked for the company's assistance in filming, a fire was not in the script. The company showed a promotion about the movie without explaining the complete film, he said.

``I wouldn't comment about whether the scene should have been cut or not. But the fact that they changed the scenario and didn't tell us is a big problem,'' said Kim Jung-hwan.

He said the movie company is not the first to break a contract, but since the scene was such a sensitive issue for the subway firm, it decided to take tough steps.

This is the first time a public corporation has come up with restrictions after working with the movie industry. Location managers are voicing concern that the decision could affect other corporations and eventually the movie industry itself.

Seoul Film Commission expressed regret over the case. Its spokeswoman said she understood the metro company's decision. ``When conducting some projects, the most important thing is to share mutual understanding between the two. The moviemakers lost it,'' she said. ``But we have several other films to be shot and I hope there could be some mediation on the issue,'' Kim Mi-hye said.

``My Love'' producers admitted their blame. ``We came up with the scene in the middle of shooting. We thought it was necessary and I think we should have shared that with Seoul Metro,'' one of them said.
