i like both of them!!!eventhough, HYD 2 is still in meteor garden 1 but i love it...matsumoto jun is ideal for that character..and also shun sguri (rui). he is so cool and i wish somebody will propose me like that ! hahahahaha..

I've just finished watching the first series and starting the 2nd. It's only the 3rd Japanese drama I've watched (after Nodame Cantabile & Dragon Zakura) so my opinion maybe a little off, but I thought some of the performances were pretty bad.

Matsumoto Jun pretty much makes the entire show, everyone else's acting pales in comparison. I know this is a very shoujo/girly orientated show but I felt they could have made it a little more even. The F4s were just a showcase of clothes and hair from what I saw, I was more distracted by that then actually listening to what they were saying.

The Rui character/actor I thought was particularly bad, even though everyone seems to like. He doesn't seem genuine enough in his performance. Also the little brother to Makino Tsukushi, he needs to shout less before his voice breaks on the show -_-

Despite all that, it's a fairly decent show, watchable but does have a lot of cringe-worthy bits.

i definitely prefer the first season cos i knew makino and domo would "kinda" get together at the end but it's a shame that he had to leave!
at first, i wanted makino to get together with rui cos domo seemed liked a right jerk but when i started to fall for rui (god, he's so fit!) and wanted makino to go with domo, they are a perfect couple after all!
my fav parts were the ending and when F4 were fighting each other and the apple scenes ^^

2nd season was a bit meh, it seemed to lose focus with those two girls chasing domo etc and rui's role wasn't that central to the story. but i loved the way he kisses makino's forehead and lips etc and he's so tall! >.<

and the other two guys of F4 didn't have much of a role in either seasons which is way i can't remember their names -_-;

Meteor Garden was ok but not something I'de ever watch again. The JDrama was the best I think. The actors were awesome as well as the way they presented the storyline in 9 episodes in season 1 and I think it was 11 ep in season 2.

this is a good drama, its worth to watch hehe.. i watch 3 times in one mnth.. this ver better than taiwan ver (meteor garden) and u guys must watch this drama! ^^

I just finished the 2nd series last night. I much prefer hana yori dango to meteor garden cos meteor garden just got so tedious to watch cos it dragged on so much (only managed to watch the first series for that... don't think I'll be ready to go through the 2nd meteor gardens)
still think makino should've got together with rui!

absolutely agree with u!!!prefer HYD than meteor garden, only the first season that i like and makino should be with rui. he is so sweet isnt he? in meteor garden 2 i only watch the 1st and the last episode..hahahha..

Finish watching HYD 2 last week. Ending was perfect. Its better that the stupid Meteor Garden shows in Taiwan =.=.
Overall Jun and Inoue was great. Love both of them act togather

If I had to pick from the dramas, I prefered Meteor Garden 1 (NOT 2--I couldn't finish it D mostly for the eyecandy. Vic Zhou can ring my bell anyday. >_>;

When I saw HYD drama 1&2, I was a bit disappointed. The guys looked strange to me at first, though they grew on me after awhile. I agree with bearbear that Matsu Jun's acting made the show. I love Hanadan but I think my favorite medium will always be the manga.

I watched Meteor Gardens long time ago and found it very long.I prefered Hana Yori Dango coz it got to the point faster.

I had this serie for a while now, but only finished it since yesterday...it was hectic, yet I am glad on how it ended..but I kinda think Riu would have been beter for her.

The scene in the dome was pretty touching though.

I've only watched HYD1 and both Meteor Garden (Taiwanese). I think the story was better told in HYD, the plot developed faster. But there was less development in the characters especially the other 2 F4 members. I must also agree that the actors for Meteor Garden were cuter (I liked Ken & Vic!). But HYD followed the manga more faithfully than Meteor Garden in the appearances of the characters.
