"Gokusen 3" confirmed for spring

Rumors of a third season of the "Gokusen" drama series were confirmed on Wednesday. Yukie Nakama will reprise her role as the teacher Kumiko Yamaguchi (affectionately known as "Yankumi").

Based on a manga by Kozueko Morimoto, "Gokusen" has already had two previous seasons. The first, in 2002, averaged ratings of 17.4%, while the 2005 sequel averaged ratings of 28.0%.

The third series will premiere in April on NTV, though the specific time slot has not yet been announced. Casting for the students will be decided around the end of this year.

my japanese class watched the gokusen I last year.
the most loved drama so far. ^^ i hope jun matsumoto, jin nd kame will all be there.

wut..sequels are normally not as good as the first..i hope it doesn't get too draggy..i was kinda bored out by yankumi's antics during the SP episode..

Cool! I saw this info on Dramawiki yesterday.. Nice to see Yankumi again . Maybe this time, she's really want to become 4th Generation Oedo Yakuza Boss. Guess we just wait and see!

i can't wait for the 3rd series boys from gokusen 2 have become more famous now. i hope they choose talented boys for the next series as well!
i wonder what the story's gonna be like too... hopefully interesting and somewhat different than previous series!

woww they are really working that one. I mean sometimes dramas have a second season but now a third? I hope it doesn't turn out to be a disappointment. Some things are best left in small doses.

Yeah I feel the same also...the casts in season 1 are far better than season 2 as well as the story. Season two is like repeating what season one has done. Hopefully the third season is better, at least better than season two.
