Student arrested for sex attack on schoolgirl

MASAKI, Ehime -- An Oita man has been arrested for a violent sex attack on a schoolgirl here in January, police said.

The 18-year-old youth, a student at a university in Oita, was arrested for indecent assault resulting in injury and robbery in the wake of the Jan. 11 incident.

The youth was still a schoolboy in Masaki at the time of the alleged attack and his identity cannot be disclosed now in accordance with the Juvenile Law.

Police said the boy, with the intent of performing obscene acts on a then-17-year-old schoolgirl, knocked her down as she cycled home through Masaki on the night of Jan. 11. He threatened her with a stun gun, punched her and caused injuries to her right knee, police said, adding that he stole her purse from the basket on the front of her bicycle and made off with the 13,550 yen in cash that it contained.

I guess I don't understand. It says he made off with her purse, isn't that called theivary. I didn't read anything about violent sex attacks besides doing something to her knee.

but still thats a bad thing, and it should be signs for Japanese schoolgirl to be more carefull on the way their home
