Cherry Filter (체리필터 or Ch'e Ri P'il D'eo) is a Korean rock band started by Jijonbo and his long time friends in 1997. They were mostly undergound until their second album Made in Korea? became an instant hit with its single Nang Man Go Yang Ee (Romantic Cat). Since then, Cherry Filter has become one of the most popular Korean bands. In 2001, Youjeen, its vocalist, left for awhile to have a solo career in Japan before the band had made it big. Youjeen's Japanese career was very sucessful, and she released her own solo second album soon after Cherry Filter's second album.

This band looks fantastic, but are they pop or visual-Kei? I hate pop. Also are they any good? Who do they sound like?

To answer your question Cherry Filter is a very popular and successful Korean rock band. I think they are amazing! You might not like them that much because of the pop element to their music, but the lead singer Youjeen (the girl member) has a great voice. The music jumps from being punk rock to a few ballads here and there. I do encourage everyone to check out one album or visit You Tube - you may be pleasantly surprised at how good they are!

i like the way she sings. i disovered them like last year feb and really liked them. lately their stuff is ok compared to their older stuff but overall theyre a great band.
